Serve Others at the Salvation Army Food Pantry

 

The Salvation Army currently provides a food pantry twice a week on Tuesday morning from 9 am – 12 pm and Thursday afternoons from 1 pm – 3 pm. They are looking for volunteers to help the clients fill out paperwork, help with food orders, stock pantry items and clean up afterward.

Help Salvation Army in the Kitchen

The Salvation Army is looking for someone willing to volunteer to help in the kitchen the last two full weeks of the month. Duties would include: helping to prepare, cook, and serve a meal and helping to keep the kitchen well maintained.

Like to Drive and Save Lives? Transport Life-Saving Blood to Patients in Need

Drive while saving lives!

Volunteer to transport life-saving blood using small Red Cross vans to local hospitals for patients in need.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Valid United States driver’s license
  • Safe driving record
  • Able to lift boxes of up to 45 pounds a short distance
  • Training provided both online courses and hands on with experienced volunteers​​​​​​​
  • Flexible availability
  • Volunteers applying for in-person position assignments require vaccination verification. Instructions to provide information and supporting documentation of vaccination will be provided once you submit your application

Help Save Lives as a Volunteer at Local Blood Drives

Do you love interacting with people and want to make a direct impact in your community? We have a volunteer opportunity for you!

The best part? You pick your locations and shifts.

What Is It and Why Is It Needed?

You would help to provide a warm and friendly greeting to our blood donors. As you welcome them you will assist them with reception and hospitality and enhance the blood donor experience.

Blood drives with volunteer greeters are more successful, run smoother and collect more blood. This means more lives are saved because of you! The importance is to provide the blood donors with a positive experience and encourage to donate regularly.

Must be 16 years or older

Dental Varnish Applications

The Oral Health Coalition of Southeast Missouri is a community-based coalition working to improve oral health through prevention, education, and increased access to affordable quality dental care. Access to those services will be provided without regard to age, race, creed, disability, or economic status.

Volunteers are needed to assist with dental varnish applications. To volunteer, you must be 18 years of age or older, and you must complete the provided online training. Access training here.  Those who complete the training will receive a certificate and will be able to assist Oral Health Coalition at area schools.  Please contact Dotty at dotty.gholson@capecountyhealth.com if you are interested.
